Senior Accounts Officer / Accounts Admin Assistant

We are seeking a Senior Accounts Officer or Accounts Admin Assistant to join our finance team with room to move while supporting various businesses. The ideal candidate will have an understanding of accounting, finance, and administrative tasks, and will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
 

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Financial Record Keeping:

    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.

    • Process invoices, expense reports, and purchase orders in a timely manner.

    • Reconcile financial discrepancies and resolve any issues with vendors or clients.

  2. Financial Reporting:

    • Assist in the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.

    • Generate regular financial reports for management and stakeholders.

    • Support the senior finance team in budgeting and forecasting activities.

  3. Compliance and Audit:

    • Ensure compliance with all accounting standards, financial regulations, and company policies.

    • Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.

  4. Accounts Receivable and Payable:

    • Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding invoices.

    • Manage accounts payable, process payments to vendors, and maintain accurate records of all transactions.

  5. Administrative Support:

    • Provide administrative support to the finance department, including filing, data entry, and document management.

    • Assist in organizing and maintaining financial records and documents.

  6. Software Proficiency:

    • Utilize accounting software and tools proficiently to streamline financial processes and maintain data accuracy.

  7. Communication:

    • Collaborate effectively with team members and other departments to resolve financial and administrative issues.

    • Communicate clearly and professionally with external stakeholders, including vendors and clients.


Preferred and Essential Skills:

  • Minimum 3 years experience in accounts, finance, or a similar role.

  • Basic knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and compliance standards.

  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial data management.

  • Proficiency in Xero is essential.

  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Commitment to maintaining the confidentiality of financial information.
